Jnr Rep Report: Round 2 & Round 7

Playing as the curtain raiser for Storm’s Round 2 NRL clash, Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side flexed their attacking muscles as they recorded a 36-10 win over the Warriors at AAMI Park on Saturday.

Storm hooker Gabriel Satrick’s elusive footwork and dangerous running game was on full display in the first half, breezing past several would-be Warriors defenders to score in the 6th and 17th minute.

Leading 12-6 coming out of the break, Storm piled on four tries in the second half to walk away with a convincing win at home in front of the Storm faithful.

Much like Satrick’s second try, local product Joshua Berryman’s try was one to savour, weaving his way through traffic off a left-foot step and scoring under the posts in the 46th minute.

Some ball playing from lock forward Angus Hinchey put second rower Hudson Brown over just 10 minutes later, with the Warriors defences tiring as Storm continued to apply the pressure on the visitors.

Tries to Siulagi Pio and De’Ontae Perese put the icing on the cake for Storm’s first win of the season, with the team now gearing up to face the Knights next week in Round 3.

Meanwhile, the Parramatta Eels showed why they are one of the dominant forces in the Harold Matthews competition, proving too good for Storm 34-0 in Round 7.

Storm’s SG Ball side were also unable to get the victory at home, a Hugo Peel double and Dylan Gallagher try the bright spots for the hosts despite the Eels coming away with the 46-16 win.

Storm’s Harold Matthews outfit will travel north next week to face the Roosters while the SG Ball side will face the Panthers.
