2026 U16 Schoolboys & U16 Schoolgirls- Player Nominations Now Open!

We are pleased to announce Expression of Interest for both the Under 16 Schoolboys & Under 16 Schoolgirls teams for the ASSRL National Championships are now open.

EOI are open until mid-January.

To be eligible for selection in the U16’s Schoolboys or Schoolgirls representative teams, all players must register and complete RISE Rookie or a Melbourne Storm program equivalent (U17’s Harold Matthews, U17’s Lisa Fiaola or U16’s Boys Development Squad).

2026 RISE Rookie program details:

• Program Cost: FREE

• Start date: Mid to late March 2026 (more details shared with players after nomination closing date)

• Finish date: April to May

• Total sessions: 5

The RISE Rookie program consists of many components that include a game, football specific attack and defence drills, strength & conditioning testing and access to online learning and development modules.

Players selected in the final squad for the ASSRL National Championship will be required to pay a player levy prior to departure. Levy details will be communicated to players and parents once confirmed.

2026 U16’s Schoolgirls ASSRL National Championship details:

• Tour dates: Friday 3^rd July to Thursday 9^th July (term 2 school holidays)

• Age eligibility: must be born in 2010 or 2011 (must be turning 15 or 16 in 2026)

• Venue: Coffs Harbour, New South Wales

2026 U16’s Schoolboys ASSRL National Championship details:

• Tour dates: Sunday 5^th July to Saturday 11^th July (term 2 school holidays)

• Age eligibility: must be born in 2010 only (must be turning 16 in 2026)

• Venue: Coffs Harbour, New South Wales
