Are you a female aged 18+ looking to take your game to the next level, develop your skills and gain the opportunity to represent the Victoria Women’s State Team? Then the RISE Rookie program is for you!

The 2026 Melbourne Storm RISE Rookie Academy (Female 18+) program is now open for player nomination. The program is set to begin in mid to late February and will include 5 training sessions followed by a sixth session featuring a trial game. After 6 x sessions, a train-on squad of 30 players will be selected to prepare for the 2026 CAS Championships held over the June long weekend.

All players must complete the nomination form below by COB Friday 5th December.

2026 RISE Rookie program details:
Program Cost: FREE
Start date: February 2026 (more details shared with players after nomination closing date)
Finish date: Late April
Total sessions: 6
Women’s State Team Progression: 30 players selected for train-on squad after the 6th session

As part of the program, players will also receive a training tee and training shorts for free!

We are also pleased to announce Expression of Interest for coaching and support staff roles across the Melbourne Storm RISE Rookie (Female 18+) are now open.
These roles offer the chance to be part of pathway environment, supporting the growth of young athletes across the state. Applicants should have relevant experience, a strong commitment to player development, welfare and availability for duration of the entire program.

All staff applicants must complete the online EOI application form and submit a one-page CV outlining your suitability for the chosen role. Please email your CV to nrlvicpathways@nrl.com.au
